Dear Simone and Andre,

Some children in the Coastal Region start every school year already behind. Not for lack of ability, and not for lack of trying, but for lack of a seat in the after-school and summer learning programs that close the distance. Right now 260 children in our region are on that waitlist.

Close the Gap is our answer. The campaign funds real, reserved seats in proven local programs, keeps children in them year over year, and follows each child’s progress so families can see the change for themselves. It works because it is specific. One seat, one child, one year at a time.

This proposal describes the seats your gift would open, what the program delivers for each child, and the recognition that comes with leadership support. Thank you for considering it. I would be glad to answer any question personally.

The program works
PROGRAMS CHANGE OUTCOMES.

Riverside Children's Fund is 100% locally funded. Every dollar raised in the Coastal Region stays in the Coastal Region, opening after-school and summer learning seats for children who are waiting.

Region stats
92%of families say their child's confidence grew within one semester
2Xfaster reading growth than students still on the waitlist
84%of teachers report stronger classroom engagement by spring
Our harbor towns are small, and the waitlist touches every one of them. A funded seat here is a promise the whole community gets to watch come true.

WHAT WE’VE HEARD.
Your story
Customize for this donor

Marisol joined the program last fall after two years on the waitlist. The first month was about catching up. By winter it was about pulling ahead: finished homework, a reading log that kept growing, and a teacher who noticed the difference before anyone said a word.

Marisol’s seat costs about $2,400 a year. It is the single most effective dollar we spend, because it buys time with people who never give up on a child.

What matters to you
Add more context if needed

A funded seat is not a handout. It is infrastructure for a childhood: steady hours, trained mentors, meals, transportation, and a plan that follows the child from one grade to the next. When a donor funds seats, families stop choosing between work and homework help.

The data
THE GAP KEEPS
GROWING.

With your help, the waitlist shrinks. The gap does not close on its own. It closes because someone decided it should.
